A wonderfully relaxing stay making full use of the leisure facilities - all of which were first class. Staff were friendly & helpful. Will stay again in the near future.
Beautiful surroundings and very close to the m4.
Pleasant environment, good range of facilities and excellent views
Everything was excellent - except the bedroom could have done with a revamp of furnishings - also no valance on the bed - there were stains on seating and carpets and curtains! Also bathroom fittings were worne - but general clenlines was good and all very comfortable! The old manor house was lovely - dining in the Patio was good-some fish would have been nice though in the breakfast buffet - not everyone wants bacon and black pudding! Also bedroom doors started banging from 630am so no lie in - which was a shame- some door soft closeure fottings would be a good idea! Overall we did enjoy our stay-golf was good except we had to share our tee with strangers which we were not advised on ! They were! Some of our golfing friends would not have liked that - we were ok though-but pre warning would have been nice! We will stay again! The staff were delightful ! Regards Mrs Flower
Just the bedroom doors banging and the soft furnishings stained!
The Manor House is part of The Celtic Manor Resort (where the 2010 ryder Cup was held). The Resort as a whole has golf, 2 spa's, plenty of things for families inculding high ropes, adventure golf, adventure playgrounds, play rooms . . what is not to love??!!
Excellent golf and gardens. Very good staff and location. Good history in the older parts of the building relating to the previous owners / occupiers and users of the place over the years.
Large spaces in certain areas unused and had an abandoned look about them. (at the foot of the escalators where the drop off is ) No elevator from the ground floor lobby means you carrry your case up to the first floor !!! As I'm not allowed to make any complaint here I can't mention the poor bathroom ! Oops.
Lovely bedroom. Good breakfast. Quiet hotel
Noise from M4! Shower could do with a non slip mat and entrance! Shower could do with some new sealant!
Cleanliness and comfort
Booking in system was down and there was no back up ( did not even ask for names), As I was visiting for a major event My party could not book in until late ( 11.00 pm).....rooms were charged the wrong way around ( 2 rooms booked) . I had to sort differences out,
took part in Brittania Tour
Everything The hotel appears to be run in the interest of the staff and not the clients Mayor complaints about the room resulting in 2 nights being refunded! I have been advising all my friends not to go anywhere near you. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years and I dont expect you to take any notice of the above Dr Milligan
What review am I writing for, The Manor House or the Celtic Manor. If you ask me Booked.net is very underhand for not highlighting somewhere that The Manor House is not the Celtic Manor but the cheaper, older neighbour hotel. It was my wifes 40th and it was supposed to be very special, whilst the breakfast and spa in the celtic manor were great it was very disappointing to find we were not in the main part of the hotel. That was the whole point of making the booking.
large airey room, very good price and still have use of spa facilities
Adventure golf was great gun, reasonable and very well done
Surprised at how dusty everything was, our room, lobby, not five star spec.
the beds were really comfortable the view was good and the room was big and everything was to hand the staff were fantastic would definatly stay again and recommend it to friends and family
Not a lot really, was the only Hotel available for our wedding night and I feel £600 for 2 nights in a room smaller than my own, views of the lobby roof and M4 motorway and for us to have only 2 omelets the whole stay vat £40.00 gbp each time was a total rip off. We didnt even get breakfast in bed £50gbp was far too much!!!!
Price, views, total ripoff
not good value for money.complained about noise in room, they didnt want to know.
